  1. No! How can anyone slag off this ride!!!!!

It’s probably one of the most entertaining rides in the whole park – and whilst a fairly new addition, I think it’s made a big impact. I would definitely be upset if they got rid of this!

The whole gaming experience, spinning cars, fluorescent scenery, and interactive props – what more could you possibly want! Family friendly, there were only two of us (both adults) and we both rode it more than once – we loved it!

The ride photos are funny too – just look at the concentration they capture on your face!

  2. This is my 3 year old sons favorite ride, I have never seem him concerntrate so hard on the task ahead of him. This is very popular ride through the seasons so be prepared to que, hwoever as it a continuous ride you move quite quickly. This would have got a 10 out of 10 but for the fact every time we go on the ride it always breaks down! this may be because of disabled passengers getting on or off or the fact that we are just unlucky, but don’t let this put you off, as you stop for whatever reason just keep adding to your score! Good Luck Space Rangers!

  3. We all loved this ride, my 3 year old was quite good at zapping the targets but my 2 year old just enjoyed watching the Buzz Lightyear sets. We loved it so much we did it more than once although we fast passed the second time as the queue time stated 45mins, I don’t think we saved very much time though as the outside queue wasn’t that long and the fastpass queue mixed with the original one just as they both go into the building.

  4. Disagreeing with the other comment, this ride is a definite. I would personally use a fast pass as the queues can get lengthy and yes go during the magic hours in the morning. A must for all the family and especially for kids. – perfect for everyone.

Just be warned in that it can become competitive if you are anything like my family.

  5. I don’t seem to be as much a fan of this as many others are. It’s fun to have an interactive ride but my problem is you often can’t tell which is your laser beam and where it is, so you have no idea what you’re hitting! Children, boys in particular seem to love it though.

It’s a popular ride so fast pass it or go early on during morning extra magic hours – later on in the magic hours there was a substantial queue, but around 8.30am-9am you could almost walk on.

  6. Something for the whole family – from our 3 year-old to her parents. At Easter the wait times were misleading – usually to our advantage. We went in a couple of times, expecting a 15 minute queue, and walked on.

  7. We love this ride and never miss it when we visit DLRP. It’s good fun, shooting Zurg in the leg..We really like Toy Story so this ride is great for us. All the colors look really nice and the atmosphere too.

  8. Loved this ride! But the queues are very, very long. Not long after it opened the waiting time moved up to 25 minutes very quickly. Sometimes it may actually be shorter than the estimated wait time but sometimes it may be longer. Best time to go is early in the extra magic hours. Nice to have a more interactive ride. Think laser quest but on a ride! The laser blasters that you use remind me of funky hairdryers!

The best bit was when we were halfway through, the ride it stopped for about 3/4 minutes (technical issue I assume!) so me and my family just kept blasting the same close target we stopped in front of. So needless to say my points went up and up! Some targets are quite hard to get but it’s all good fun, just wish it was a bit longer. Remember to smile for the camera as well!

  9. This is absolutely the best ride in Disneyland. It’s very funny, and very nice to go with the family. Unfortunately it is often “broken”, and the queues are long, so go to this direct when the park opens and use the fastpass-system.

The ride goes too quick, it should at least be twice as long.

  10. Went on the version of this ride in America and really enjoyed. Shame the same can’t be said for this version.

Absolute, pure rubbish. That’s all you need to know. I would rather be trapped inside the Nautilus for 24 hours than have to endure this pathetic clone of a great ride.

Before Space Mountain came to town Le Visionarium was my outright favourite. It had soul, like de la terre a la lune, and was a great ride with a great soundtrack.

When I heard that they were replacing it with a Buzz Lightyear clone I thought that as long as it’s a worthy replacement then I won’t be bothered. But it isn’t. Buzz Lightyear and his spin-off from Star Wars pal Zurg went and spat on Le Visionarium’s grave with the qaulity of this ride, it is SO poor. At least they actually recognise that a class ride actually existed before the scum took hold, yes if you look carefully you can see 9-Eye in the Robot Attack scene. But the fact that Disney or Le Visionarium should ever be associated with this ride is a disgrace.

  11. Fantastic. The best interactive ride I’ve ever been on. At quiet times (during Extra Magic Hours and late at night) you won’t even need to use Fastpass.

The queue line is innovative, and the Buzz Lightyear briefing animatronic is mind-blowingly cool. Even his fingers move individually! Once on the ride, use the gearstick to get the best targets. The ones on Emperor Zurg himself give loads of points. In the tunnel with the flying lights, look out for targets on the sides. I especially like the last alien scene: “He is a baaaaad toooooy.”

Make sure you check out your score at the end on the rankings. So, space rangers, “you’ve landed on Planet Z – be ready for anything….”

  12. I loved this ride so much – and I’m a female in my thirties – as did my three year daughter. By far our favourite ride in the parks! The extra magic hours meant no queuing in the mornings. In the evenings, a completely different story – we queued for almost an hour but my little girl was so keen to ride it again, she never complained! So much fun and you want to get a better score each time.

I can’t believe that we managed to get a photo without having our heads obscured – they are definitely worth the money. Two framed photos for €20 – the concentration on my face was laughable and my little girl was just full of smiling excitement.

Agree that it is good for little boys but great for little (and big) girls too!

  13. Good for little boys, but the long time waiting is not very good. Anyway, it’s a fun interactive ride.

I do prefer spinning around with the car and I always look bad on the photo (with the gun in my face).

  14. I think this is soooooo amazing. I love it! With shooting by yourself and turning around by yourself it makes it so much fun! I had to wait a little longer but it was definitely worth it. Good for little boys ;)

  15. Completely awesome. My family loved this ride. A definite must! However, in the final room, try to keep your gun at chest level, as this is the room they take the photo in. My family was quite disappointed that our guns were in our faces in the pictures! We would’ve bought them, otherwise.

Oh, and watch out for long queues. We got a fast pass, and were still in line for at least fifteen minutes. It’s totally worth it, though!

  16. Great Ride! Pilot your own starcruiser and help Buzz defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg! The ride is appealing for young and old alike, my father gets right into the spirit! The best part must be “PLANET Z” with flying dinosaurs and jumping aliens.

The queues can be VERY long, and fastpass doesn’t really make much of a difference, the queue line does apppear to go on forever! My advice is to do it during the extra magic hours!

There is a “hidden” target on the ride which gives you 200,000 points per hit, i have managed to find it but i am keeping it a secret from my younger brother!

    TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

  17. Love this ride!! Managed to walk straight on it every morning during magic hour in march 08, however it is also a fast pass ride!

There are 2 people per car, each of you has a laser gun to shoot down the aliens and 1 of you will also have to steer the car; basically turn it round in the right direction to shoot the aliens.

This ride seems to last quite long, however queues are kept to a minimum as cars as very close to one another and there is a steady flow of people going on and getting off.

The photo opportunity is class, however remember to keep your gun down from your face – my friend managed to have her gun over her face for the 4 times we rode this ride!! lol! such concentration on each persons face in the photos however.

  18. You have got to do this ride in Discoveryland.
For space cadets of all ages, the queues can be long and so a FastPass is worth getting.
I must admit that Buzz Lightyear speaking French and briefing you as you walk through to the ride made me laugh and put me in a good mood. It just didnt’ sound right.

The ride is so popular the paint has worn away on some of the fixtures due to the thousands of bodies that have rubbed against them.

As you climb aboard the space pod (two per pod), one of you has to be the controller of the joystick and be able to shoot your lazer as well!
As you enter the shooting zone you aim at targets with your lazer and score points as you hit the centres, which light up.

I got to 198,000 points and for me the ride is over far too quickly.
    Go for it.
As you walk out look at the photo display of the people on the ride – you will see faces showing intense concentration. Get one as a momento. The plastic mount and the score you achieved on the photo will be a permanent reminder of a fun ride.

  19. Wow what a fun ride, shoot your laser at the targets and score points , great for all ages even competitive adults who want to get higher scores. Fastpass on this ride doesn’t really work though as it just integrates you with the normal queue.

By purplrrainbow on 3rd February 2008

  20. Very very cool ride, grab a fastpass early on in the day as they go very quickly.

Great for all the family, and very competitive.

Just like being a kid again and a must do.

  21. Get a FASTPASS and get on this ride.
Really good fun and amazing scenes and settings
you sit in a car type thing and have a laser gun , where you hav to shoot targets and collect points
queues are generally about 30-45 mins long
    or fast pass 10-15 minutes

  22. Great ride for eveyone, and one you will want to ride again and again ! 9/10

  23. When i was in the queue for the very first ride in this attraction, i thought that it wasn’t a good attraction… but, after the ride, i love it!

By manakin on 5th December 2007

  24. This is a great ride. Become a big kid again. Climb aboard your very own space pod and give buzz a helping hand. Shoot the alien targets with the onboard lasers and the computer keeps score. To help you boost your score you can make your pod swivel with the joystick, which is also great for making the wife miss targets so you can beat your wifes score. (me=2 wife=1)
The overall experience of this attraction is fantastic.
So what are you waiting for.

    To infinity and beyond! ;-)

  25. I loved this ride. Its quite a simple idea, but brilliant fun. Everytime we came out I’d be smiling and laughing because it was so much fun just to act like a kid. I didnt realise how competitive I was! The scoring system made me determined to beat my husband, over and over again!!! We didnt really encounter queues mainly because we got on in the evening and used fastpass for busier times. The queues do move relatively quickly because this ride operates on a conveyor belt system, so the cars never have to stop.

10/10 cant wait to go back again and whip my husbands ass in Jan 08! or at least try (he beat me ! him 2 ,me 1 )

  26. A great attraction that you can ride over and over again due to the scoring system that the ride offers. The more you ride the better your score! The queues can be long, so why bother with them, use the Fast Pass and then walk straight on – it makes sense – unless you enjoy queuing of course?

The only slight problem with the ride is that the guns don’t always work, so you just sit there and watch, not such a good ride then. The queuing area for the ride is very well done and the animated Buzz is excellent.

    By phildis66 on 4th November 2007

  27. This was a lot of fun for the full family.
The queue was quite big but I enjoyed this more than I thought I world. My husband’s score put me to shame but it was fun!!

By nattynoo on 6th October 2007

  28. A highly recommended attraction and one which gives you a unique ride over and over again. The scores are a great add. Because of them, you will try to beat your score every time and that makes the ride very intens! The lines can be very long, but it is worth the wait.

  29. Vastly superior to the disappointing Walt Disney World version of the ride, this is a fun but short dark ride through the Toy Story universe. Guests are equipped with laser guns and must shoot targets to help defeat the evil emperor Zurg. Guests are also able to control the movement of the cars, which is a lot of fun and adds an extra element to the ride.

The sets are colourful with plenty to look at. The Zurg and Buzz animatronics are excellent, some of the best work Disney has done. The rest of the figures are fine.

This is a very popular attraction which can attract long lines, although it is fairly fast loading. I would recommend experiencing this attraction as soon as possible in the morning. Although not scary, this is a dark ride so some young children may be intimidated. Most kids will love it.

  30. This version of Buzz Lighter laser blast rides is the best. The Queues are very big but its an amzing attraction. With you controlling the movement of the car and being able to shoot targets. Its great for all ages.
