  1. Perhaps the most charming ride in the park; I went at Christmas and they were doing the ‘It’s a Small World Celebration’, which was enjoyable (a few carols were chucked in with the infamous theme tune). I’ve never had to wait for more than 5 minutes for this ride, and you must do it before you leave.

  2. I LOVE THIS RIDE!!!!!!

Got the extra surprise of having the christmas celebration edition this year – what a treat!!!

I love dolls anyway though so I may be biased towards this ride, but I don’t think a trip to Disney would be complete without this ride – especially love the end with the glittery funfair scene! Also love the little toytown at the exit!

I really do love Small World.

  3. A must everytime we visit. Who doesn’t come off of the ride humming that fateful tune for at least 10 minutes afterwards? It is just a small shame that there doesn’t seem to be enough time spent by maintenance ensuring that all the exhibits are working as they should. Have also missed the Christmas bits the last year (2008) though I believe that they have brought it back for 2009. 9 out of 10 only due to the fact that not everything is working.

  4. A beautiful ride, great for all ages. The boat ride is relaxing and the scenery is great! My only complaint is that it doesn’t go on long enough hehe!

  5. If you’ve never ridden this, you’ve almsot certainly at leastheard the song. And if that’s the case, the song is probably putting you off the idea of getting on board this happy cruise but please don’t let it! This is one of the most charming rides I have ever experienced, and I feel it truly captures the essence of Disney magic. Forget walking down Main Street USA, and seeing the castle for the first time; it’s only when I’ve got into one of the boats, and heard the first bars of the infamous song that I KNOW I’ve arrived at Disneyland!

  6. Good ride but after you ride it a couple of times it does become boring. But what would a trip to any disney park be without going on it at least twice.

    By tinkerbell09 on 5th July 2009

  7. Suitable for everyone. Once you have ridden you will never forget the song. We have been humming it since 1993 and our first ride. Excellent ride to do if its raining as the majority of the queueing area is undercover.

We love the hyena! And the clock is an excellent extra.

  8. Always a classic, I was surprised at how much my 5 year-old took to it, insisting on riding it twice in a row. Even more interesting was the amount of time he spent in the exhibition after. I literally had to drag him out of there.

  9. First things first – I am a fan of this ride. It is really good and have never had to queue for over 10 minutes. Fantastic scenery, theming, music, models etc this ride can’t go wrong…..

However, considering the recent additions to Hong Kong Disneyland and in California, this addition of the classic is getting a little bit old. The newly opened versions (in HK and CA) look fantastic, and this is where I have a little problem. The outer facade when I last went (a year ago) had paint peeling, rust and was overall looking a little bit worn. It maybe that since then the park management have given it a lick o’ paint, but I suggest a month’s refurbishment or something like that, and this could also be said for quite a few rides (eg. Star Tours, Fantasyland).

Yet, overall, this is still a fantastic ride and a must do for every time. If you have children then they will adore it. (Though prepare for the song getting trapped in your head for the rest of your life).

  10. A disneyland paris classic!!

It is a family fun ride. Suitable for all ages!

  11. My 9 year old daughters favourite ride in the whole park ! We usually head here when we first arrive in the park.We always have to ride it 10 times at least during our stay! Just as well the queues are never too long.

  12. One of my favourites, very fine attraction for adults and small children. Nice music too, don’t miss this attraction. Short queues most of the time.

  13. This is a true Disney experience, fantastic for all the family (although embarrassed teenagers probably won’t appreciate it). The Audio-Animatronic dolls give a cute touch, and look out for the featured countries’ famous landmarks as you float past.

I especially like the African scene (featuring hyenas, hippos and a lion) and the areas based on China and Japan. Make sure you visit the France-Telecom sponsored room on the way to the exit to see some clever technology.

I challenge you to not be singing the theme song as you walk out! This ride has long queues during the middle of the day, so do it early or late. Enjoy!

  14. A classic. My family(two teenagers, two parents) loved it. Even the guys in our family had to appreciate it for what it is. The queues were amazingly fast, and it was a wonderful break for our feet. It’s also a surprisingly long ride. And that song, that wonderful song! It’s hard to catch everything, though; your head darts back and forth to see things on the left side, and the right, and then there are things on the ceiling as well.

  15. Fun and relaxing attraction. It’s great to see how this attraction differs from park to park.

  16. This is a wonderful attraction if you appreciate it for what it is, a childrens ride. I personally love to go on it, although my teenage son says this year he is NOT riding it with me, although we are taking our Grandson who will be 12 months old when we go so he may relent to ride with his Nephew! This is a great escape when the weather is rough, gives you time to recover from the rain or wind.

By eewan on 4th May 2008

  17. I defy anyone to leave this ride without humming the catchy tune over and over again. Even now all I have to do is play ‘it’s a small world..’ and everyone in our familiy smiles. It is a ride to immerse yourself in. It will take more than one ride to notice everything. The queues move quickly and it is a great ride to escape the heat/rain/cold whatever season you visit.

  18. Did this ride during magic hour and just jumped straight on. This ride is brilliant in the visual sense, the music sticks in your head and you’re bound to be singing it all day long!! The ride lasted a lot longer than I remembered. The figures are amazing, the attention to detail given to them!

  19. This has got to be the best experience in the whole Park. The music, the boats, the sound of water, the scenery – all go to make this ride a very happy and calming one. You are totally Disneyfied after a go on this one and every thing afterwards is just wonderful.

Anyone who has been on it knows that it is sugary sweet and the hundreds of little automon figures from countries and regions around the world cannot fail but to win your hearts.

Look out for the little extras as you sail around. Not all of the figures are automons. Many are just figurines – look at the soldiers in the England tableau and the geishas one for Japan, for example.

In 2003, a stranger appeared in the midst of the Austrian/Swiss tableau – Slinky dog from “Toy Story” and he was still there in February 2008. He stands astride the little train.

I like Cleopatra on her barge as she winks evocatively at her guests as they sail by.

The final scenes are pure Disney with each nation represented in national costumes in gold and white singing their hearts out and joining together to make it a small world after all.

The building above the ride is a clock and it opens up every 15 minutes and displays the time and some of the figures from within the ride.

Got to be the best for all ages to go on.

  20. FANTASTIC – we went on this ride numerous times , and every time you notice something new and different. The music sticks with you for ages and its a ride for everyone. The end of the ride is a lighting spectacular with the world coming together.

  21. Everybody visiting disney should make time for this ride, it is especially for children but i find all ages enjoy it. Its very relaxing and the final hollywood “room” is absolutely beautiful.

    By Tinkerbell93 on 23rd January 2008

  22. Me and my family loved this ride. It was very relaxing and we had the song stuck in our heads throughout our Disney trip !

It is a really happy ride and it’s fun guessing what countries the characters are from. A bonus is that you don’t have to queue very long to ride on it because there are lots of boats going at the same time.

    Brilliant ride 8/10

  23. Disney Retro !!!
A must do for true Disney fans
Its a childs ride, but good if you want to sit down for a while
Queues are either non existant or massive, but they do go quick!

By iwerksdisney on 2nd January 2008

  24. Pure escapism. Very kitsch, and a little odd… but don’t fight it. A must do!

By markpsych on 28th December 2007

  25. Colourful, gentle and with annoyingly catchy music that you literally need to force out of your mind to save your sanity for the rest of the day. A nice ride if the queues aren’t too bad.

By Northerngod on 18th December 2007

  26. A good ride to take if you need a rest. A slow moving boat ride through the world with numerous audio animatronis dolls dressed in brightly coloured costumes singing ‘It’s a Small World’ and dancing. This ride will appeal to all ages. Every fifteen minutes the clock outside the ride springs to life with a display of more dolls! I have never waited very long to go on this ride and the boats hold a large number of people. Especially attractive to Disney’s younger guests!

  27. This is such a lovely ride, really gentle, sweet and very relaxing.

I think this is a must for everyone, theres so much to see. Its great if your legs are fed up of walking and you need to have a sit down but still be entertained. I am not keen on dolls, but this attraction has really been thought out, is really clever and beautifully done. Its a very happy ride, and I dare you, that you cant get through it with out smiling.

The tune is an unforgettable one, that you will probably end up singing or humming for days ( a little irritating after 6 months!!! LOL )
    Brilliant 9/10

By mandymoo on 7th November 2007

  28. This has to be the most Disney of Disney rides. You have to this ride to know that you have arrived. We all know the tune and the dolls are well themed. There is usually no need to queue as it is a fast loading ride. What more is there to say – it’s Disney!

    By phildis66 on 7th November 2007

  29. THIS IS DISNEY!!!!!

I first rode It’s A Small World in 1971 at the original Disneyland in California. It totally lifted our day and put us in the Disney mood.

Now – to visit with three small children was better than ever. My 3, 6 and 8 year old were totally enchanted, and sang the song ALL DAY !!??!!

The Paris ride is much bigger than California, which makes it a reasonably long ride, and worth the wait. The queues can be long, but they’re constantly moving, with many bots to take the crowds.

TIP: If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, use you extra hours early start to ride before the hordes arrive.

By high (or rather low) demand, we went on it 7 times in six days.

A MUST DO . . . AGAIN and AGAIN. It’s A Small World After All.

Disney is for Children – This is for Children – of ALL AGES!

  30. It’s a classic Disney ride and one of their best rides ever created. The whole family can enjoy the ride.

By dagobert on 5th November 2007

  31. It’s nauseatingly twee, the song will drive you potty and you’ll be singing it for the rest of the day, if not the rest of your holiday but it’s a must do whether you’re 8 or 80. I’ve lost track of the number of times we’ve ridden it, but I swear I always notice a doll I’ve never seen before. If I could own one part of Disneyland Paris it would be the Welsh dolls in IASW :)

  32. “it’s a small world” is a great family ride and it has a song that will never ever get out of your heads….LITERALLY!

  33. This is my mum’s favourite. She especially loves the hula girls. i have been on this ride loads of times and still manage to see something that I never saw before -well worh a go.

  34. A Disneyland classic. Yes yes, the song can get annoying, but this really is a must-do. A lovely and peaceful boatride through all the countries of the world, with a very simply message – it’s a small world after all! The last scene always gives me a goosebumps, and at the very least this is a ride that never has queues and gives you a chance to catch your breath. Don’t miss the part after you exit the ride – kids (and to be fair, adults!) could spend hours playing here – I know I used to!

    By wendybird7 on 21st September 2007

  35. This is a bright, colourful ride, but be warned it is very twee and very “cute”! Children seem to take to this ride, but adults either enjoy it greatly or vehemently hate it. Personally I like the ride, the sets and animatronic figures are good and there’s always something new to notice and enjoy.

The well known theme song plays throughout the ride, although it does change instrumentally and lyrically to match the country you’re sailing through. You’ll be humming it all day after riding!

This is a high capacity ride, which means there is rarely much of a wait. It can make for a nice air conditioned break during the busier parts of the day. I wouldn’t wait more than 15 minutes for a ride personally. There is nothing in the ride that kids will find intense or scary.

By lloyddy on 12th September 2007

  36. This is my mum’s favourite ride. I’m quite happy to sit on it, and I do enjoy seeing all the different nationalities represented. I am not keen on the last room. It is really far too manic for me!

The song is fabulous though. The most catchy song ever, and lots of fun to sing randomly around the park to get it into your companions heads just as they’ve managed to replace it with A Pirates Life For Me.
