My daughter and I got a chance to ride the Omnibs this just as we walked into the park during EMH. I was impressed by the CMs who noticed me quickly folding our stroller, and then took it and stowed it on the bus. There was an extra bonus in that we ended up racing Mickey (in a car) to the castle.
What a lovely way of travelling down Main Street this is. We entered the parks around 8AM for the Extra Magic hours and arriving in Main Street were able to just jump straight on the Omnibus getting a seat at the front of the top deck which was great for us to take photos of the castle as we drove up to it!
Only took a few minutes to get to the castle but a lovely little trip in oldie worldie land!! Really added to the atmosphere on Main Street.
A good way to rest your legs, and it’s a great way to soak up the atmosphere of Main St. USA. I rode on the police paddy wagon, which has a great sounding horn! Be ready as sometimes the vehicles don’t stop at the designated stops.
these are lovely and i really enjoyed going down main street in this you felt all important!
HOWEVER WORD OF WARNING there are no formal queues, you will have to fight to keep your place and (quietly & politely) maintain your authority as head of the line when you have been the only people waiting for ten minutes then as soon as your car turns up a family of 5 who happen to be passing go “ah yes lets jump on board” then waltz straight in front of you and onto it or start queing in front of you (three times this happened to us)-the drivers can’t workout who has been waiting the longest so let on whoever gets there quickest. We had a woman swearing blind to the driver she and her family (who had just that second joined us) were there way before we were when we tried to stop her taking our place, till we pointed out this was the third car we had tried to get on since we joined the damned line becuase of people like her jumping in front of us…
We got on it and she had to wait – I am going to attempt this again in August but I am prepared this time!!!
I love the look of these old types of vehicles as they add to the atmosphere of main street. They are also a great way to save your legs a little walk down to the castle. They are not fast but a nice gentle little ride.
Be prepared to shove your way on though. Most europeans don’t seem to respect the polite english queuing etiquette :0
