Not a place we would return to! We went at 4pm and the restaurant was not busy however we waited and waited for our starters. Our waiter was very friendly but the staff seemed more interested in setting all the tables up for the evening.

After a very long wait the food was nothing special. We were ordering from the Half Board Plus menu which had a good selection. But did notice others being served quicker who were ordering from the regular menu. This could have been a coincidence???!!!

Visited on 27th April and I would never visit again!! The food was ridiculously overpriced and the service dreadful.

I am perfectly happy to pay for good food in a good environment with good service. On my visit only the environment was OK. I opted for the set price menu at 37 Euros as the a la carte selection was crazily overpriced! T Bone steak at 48 euros!! whilst Disney cannot be held responsible for the poor exchange rate it would have to be hell of a steak for £40!!!

My starter of ceaser salad was adequate but uninspiring, the main course of Tuna steak was incredibly dry and almost uneatable (Not just my opinion judging by the pile of uneaten steaks on the waiters clearing area as I left) and the desert of "apple pie" was more like a small pasty with next to no apple in it, god you get more apple in a desert at Mcdonalds!

I may have been unlucky, but I just couldn't find anything to recommend about the food I was offered!

After seeing some photographs on the Magic Forum. I thought we'd try this restaurant out the first night we stopped at DLRP.

Putting it bluntly this was the best meal we had. I wish we had visited the restaurant twice in the 4 day break.

We opted for a set meal that was around 33 Euros per person. I started with a scallop soup, which was served in a little saucepan. The started was so tasty that even our baby slurped the spoon clean (usually she rejects being fed). My wife had a carrot soup, which was served in a glass with a better frothy head than any pint of beer I'd seen.

We both continued with a rump steak. Unlike other reviews the meat was cooked to perfection, very tasty indeed.

The theme was a little bizarre I felt. Disney like to have a back story to set the scene. The restaurant was supposed to be housed in a meat packing factory which used to be a theatre and Meat actions house (I think). Possibly a few twists too many. I'll agree that the age is set for older kids and couples, but we had great interaction with the waiters and our baby. One waiter held saucers behind her head for mickey ears, while we took a photo.

Will definately be back again.

Unlike some of the the reviews, I've had nothing but a lovely experience at this restaurant. We always make sure to go about 6pm-ish as at this time we have always managed to be seated and it is not too overcrowded. I've had great experiences with the waiters and waitresses, service has not been slow for us. The food is nothing below sublime in my opinion. I highly recommend it for couples and couples with older children.

NOT a magical experience......

Like other reviewers we booked ourselves into the Steakehouse on our last visit in Nov 07 for a bit of a "treat" - a brake from the snacks and fast food you have most of the time, especially after a day at the Studios where food choices are quiet limited; a chance to get a bit dressed up whilst in the resort and remember you are infact 28 not 8 - we wished we hadn't bothered.

Quite a slow service but you don't mind that whilst soaking up the lovely atmosphere of the building and the quiet piano music and ordering a nice if expensive bottle of wine. The food though - quite honestly I have never had such a poor stake or meal anywhere.

From what I remember I ordered the rump stake kebab and my boyfriend the sirloin. Knowing how the French like to cook their meat "blue" we was expecting a perfectly cooked stake - boy, how wrong we were. The sirloin was well done, despite asking for medium but was at least edible once you trimmed all the fat off it (perhaps 35% of the total portion) but my skewered meat and vegetables looked and tasted like it had been on a BBQ for an hour. After sampling a couple of pieces to check I called the waiter over. This in itself was a nightmare, it took about 10 minutes to attract his attention, at which point he said he would get the manager.

Another 5 minutes passed, whilst my partner tried to eat his as slow as possible. Another 5 minutes, at which point I was eating part of his already measly portion. Not quite the romantic meal we had planned. The manager offered some explanation I couldn't quite understand the point of and offered to bring a fresh order for me - I explained my partner had now finished his, although not quite in the manner we had expected. He said there would be no charge for my meal, a statement I gather they have much use for. They asked if would like deserts and despite being hungry we declined and asked for the bill and left.

I would HIGHLY advise against this establishment. It ruined the last night of a wonderful DLP stay and left us with a bad taste in our mouths. We would have been better staying in the New York City Bar where we started the night with cocktails - the free bar snacks would have satisfied us more.

We have eaten here twice during visits to Disney. Once for our Wedding anniversary and secondly for my 40th Birthday. This is a classy restaurant and for special occasions is worth the cost. It isn't cheap but the service and food is well worth it. It was nice to go to a 'proper' restaurant which had dressed tables and was quieter than most of the other restaurants in the resort.

We ate here for a change as we have been to DLP before and have never eaten at the steakhouse. We wished we hadn't bothered. We decided to order main and desert. My mam ordered rump steak and I got the other 8oz steak (cant remember what cut it was) though I am writing this one day after I came back. It was memorable for the wrong reasons.

My mam ordered hers medium and I medium to well done. The waiter said that in France they find that difficult and there is medium and well done. I usually get medium but with it being France I wanted no blood in it. I specificaly told the waiter I didn't mind pink but no blood. It came and there was blood seeping onto the plate. I pressed my knife into steak and blood filled the dent. When I cut into it it was bright red. We politely asked the waiter who was very pleasant if it could be cooked a bit more please and he said yes and took my plate. My mam was eating her steak as slowly as she could but she'd eaten half before mine was returned - CHARCOALED!!!

I can imagine an arrogant french chef thinking "oh some stupid english peasant has sent back a steak to my kitchen. She wants it well done does she, she can have it well done", and then beating out the flames before putting it back on the plate. It is no exageration there was charcoal on the outside that could just to say be scraped off and burnt lumps on the edges. It was still sort of edible and I managed to eat a third to stop my mothers meal being entirely spoilt as well.

We didnt kick up a fuss about it and complain even quietly as it is a more upmarket restaurant, the place was packed and my mother would have been embarrassed about it even though it wasn't our fault. I wish I had complained and got the steak free because to add insult to injury this was the most expensive meal of our whole stay. Even my mam who thoroughly enjoyed her steak and chips said that it wasn't worth anywhere near the price charged, and we got two of the less expensive steaks.

The desert was nice and that saved the evening for me. We got a cappuchino and 3 mini deserts,ice-cream,marshmallow cake and choc cake that was like brownie and an extra shortcake type biscuit. That was 7.50 euros. Altogether the meal for two with coke each cost over 75 euros. Only go if you,ve got meal vouchers and don't have to get the cash out of wallet, don't want to eat anywhere else in Disney and hope the same chef isn't working that night or eat pasta!!!

Our family ate here using our half board plus vouchers. These covered the 33 euro menu which had a choice of 3 starters, main courses (including a delicious steak) and desserts (including baileys creme brulee and ben and jerrys ice cream) and a large soft drink! It may sound limited, but we had a lovely meal and would def use this restaurant again!

Strangely enough, my boyfriend and I never really eat steak but during our recent holiday decided to bite the bullet and try it. The interior of the restaurant is really grand, like an upmarket Chicago warehouse and there are free lollipops at the entrance along with sweets to keep the children quiet until dinner time. There is a set menu although it is quite limited as the starters are either meat or fish - if you're fussy this might be a problem - but the mains and desserts featured on it were really good. We decided to go for items from the general menu and didn't need a starter because there was a complimentary bread basket which was refilled without us even asking or it being eaten! The staff are very attentive and are quick to make recommendations. The menu us fairly expensive, with main meals ranging from about €24 - €40 depending on the type of steak you want. Portions are good, they leave you with just enough room for pudding, oh - and you can ask for your steak to be done how you prefer it.
The desserts were excellent; apple pie with Ben and Jerry's ice cream, a trio of mini American style desserts and Bailey's Creme Brulee for example - all reasonably priced. The drinks menu is similar to all other table restaurants and the 'fantasia' cocktail is especially good.
A good tip - this restaurant is very large, if you go about 6pm it is generally very quiet and you could probably walk in on the night and be able to be seated.
