We have stayed at the New York twice now and it is our favourite! Loved the bar and the choice of childrens cocktails which pleased our daughter!.The breakfasts are lovely and it is nice to be offered the choice of hot items. Plenty of choice. We also used our dining vouchers and used the parkside diner buffet which was very nice. Our room was large and very clean. We had a lovely view of the castle which was nice during the firework show.
We just returned from Hotel New York yesterday, and absolutely loved it!
The room was much larger than expected, and cleaned to an excellent standard every day. Lovely view of Panoramagique and the lake, and beds were sooooo comfy! The hotel itself is very stylish and chic. The theme is carried off elegantly throughout, and all the decor exceeded our expectations. We saw at least two characters in the hotel lobby area every day, sometimes even dancing with cast members!
Staff were all superb, very cheery and helpful especially those at the concierge desk. Breakfast selection was fantastic – sausages, bacon, eggs, toast, lots of different cereals, fruits, yoghurts, pastries, and a wide choice of hot and cold drinks. You could really fill up for the long day ahead!
The best thing is the location, right at the edge of the Village beside cafe mickey and a 5 minute walk from the park gates. In short, I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, our stay was perfect. I would recommend it to anyone and cannot wait to return next year!
Second time we have stayed in the Hotel New York and again we have had a fantastic time.
Firstly the room was clean and despite other reviews the décor was in very good condition and the carpet was in the process of being replaced on our entire floor in all corridor areas.
The breakfast was taken in the convention centre with very friendly cast members and copious amounts of food on offer. Bacon was not available on every day but plenty of other things on offer.
Can I say that Denis on the concierge desk was amazing! He was very helpful in recommending where to eat and had excellent knowledge of the various park restaurants and I have to say that his recomendations were spot on. Look out for DENIS if you are staying here!
We have stayed in the Newport Bay Hotel before – again very good but this one just has the edge for us – slightly nearer to walk to and the swimming pool is great. 10/10 yes 10/10!
I have been one time in the Disney Hotels and I chose it for one reason. When I was looking for a good hotel in DLRP I liked it. The rest seemed to be more boring, less themed (except Disneyland Hotel of course).
New York hotel is my favourite choice. It’s very relaxing and calmed. There are no agglomerations to have breakfast because it seems to be smaller. No agglomerations. Perfect theming, very well chosen colours in the wall and inside the hotel.
The rooms are cool and beautiful. The views to the lake have to be fantastic. The bathroom is ok and the beds are comfortable and so big.
It has an expensive and luxurious restaurant called Manhattan, and the Parkside dinner has a good food and I am in love with its theming. Breakfasts are very good.
The swimming pool is not very big but it’s very well. Combines with the rest of the hotel.
There’s something very important, the situation in the resort. It’s the nearest hotel to the Disney Village and very near to the parks (just 10 minutes). Well placed in front of the lake.
If someone asked me about this hotel everything would be good words.
I stayed at the Disneyland Resort Paris 8 times ( 2x Cheyenne, 2x Sequoia Lodge, 2x Newport Bay Club, 1x Disneyland Hotel and 1x New York). But I never saw a hotel like this.
It fascinated me when I get in and saw the lobby. It´s amazing and interesting. The Art-Déco is so in love with details and the breakfast, my god, GREAT.
Most of all I liked the big Bedrooms. We are four people and enough space for everyone. The beds are very large and the bathroom is soooo big.
This summer I will stay there a second time because this is my favourite hotel of all I´ve ever stayed in. Go there and you will never chose an other hotel.
My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights in 2003. The staff was welcoming, room was large with comfortable beds. The only thing we didn´t like was that the windows couldn´t open. Breakfast was nice and quiet and there was a large variety of food. It´s only just a five minute walk to the parks.
We had a good stay in this hotel, but for some reason we chose it just once. We usually stay at Newport Bay Club.
Stayed for 3 nights at New York and had no complaints at all. Very clean and staff are very welcoming. Ate in the Parkside Diner and breakfasts were always good. Excellent choices, cereal, toast, breads, cold meats, bacon, sausages and scrambled egg, yoghurts and fruit. Oh and croissants and pains au chocolat. My daughters favourite. You just help yourself and eat as much as you like. Some people take more than they need and put it in their bag for lunch. Some people also take obscene amounts, returning time and time again. Greedy people! We didn’t experience any queues, were there midweek and had breakfast around 8am.
Dinner was also buffet and had good meals. Characters come several times a day outside boutique, so take your camera with you always, they have their own photographer but it costs 15 euros for one picture. Adds up if you have picture taken with 4 of them. Room and bathroom spotless. Beds made every day and towels replenished. Swimming pool good and they supply towels too.
Hotel is only 5 minute walk from entrance to parks, through the Disney Village where you can eat and shop. Had a brilliant time and would recommend this Hotel 10/10.
Just come back from our first trip to DLRP and planning the next one already!
After looking at this site before booking, we had opted for the Hotel New York as it had the best rating, while not being the most expensive.
And what a brilliant choice! The atmosphere was great, along with the decor and staff. I booked by phone and was offered an Empire Suite for a couple of hundred pounds more and as this included the breakfast in the Club room, with characters guaranteed every day, drinks and snacks free all day in the Club room and also VIP Fastpasses, we decided that it was worth it.
But what a bargain we actually got! When we checked in at the Empire Suite check in desk (no queue and lovely staff) we were informed that unfortunately there were none of the room types left that we had booked. My husband was about to go ballistic but the manager asked us to look at the room they did have available and see if it would do. And so he took us to the Roosevelt Suite – the best room in the hotel, complete with Grand piano, two floors, 5 TVs, whirlpool bath and views of both Disney Lake and Disney Castle! It was the icing on the cake of our perfect holiday!
The breakfast in the Club room was lovely with hot food as well as the continental food and with at least 2 character visits each morning, although there could have been a bit more variety – Minnie Mouse every morning. The bar was great with really friendly staff and the concierge was always helpful and with loads of info at his fingertips. The pool was nice but a little cold on the day we went in and there was also a skating rink, which was a lot of fun, if painful!
It was about a 10 minute walk from the parks but this was a nice end to the day as it is through the Disney Village and past the Disney Lake.
All in all it is a brilliant hotel, even without the lovely upgrade we received, and we are definitely staying there next time.
iNCREDIBLE!!!
I´ve been in this hotel the 31th of December 2008 until Janury 7th. This has been my fourth time in the Resort, and the other times I were in Sequoia Lodge (also a great hotel)
The New York hotel is bigger than Sequoia, The rooms are larger, the bathroom is realy big and better than the Sequoia.
It´s very nice, and the characters are always there.
The cast Members also go to your room and always give chocolate coins and it´s fantastic!!!
I enjoyed so much and of course the next time I will go to this hotel again!
Just returned for our third DLP trip and the first time at DHNY – Absolutely amazing!!!
On previous trips we stayed in the Sequioa which we always love at Christmas time but a few niggles with the dated decor and hassle at breakfast and meal times meant that as we were travelling with Disney first timers and a 3 year old we decided to push the boat out and was not disapointed in any way!!
The hotels itself is buzzing but not too busy, a lot quiter than other Disney hotels, especially the Sequoia after the parks close and upon arricval. Great facilities including a lovley pool and huge hot tub for relaxing after a long days walking!! The staff are poilte and always helpfull.
We uprgraded to the Empire State Club rooms and this was the best move of our stay. Situated on a floor all of your own you can enjoy daily access to your own breakfast and reception room, serving drinks and sweet treats til 10 at night. The best part was a characters every morning for breakfast – meeting Mickey first thing every morning meant no queing required in the parks. The rooms were large and spacious with clean, large bathrooms, complete with towling robes and slippers and a fresh rose in a vase. A nice touch. Every morning the beds were changed and new towles supplied as they were each eveing as part of the turn down service. Even if you were in your room at this time they offered the gold Mickey coins for the kids – much to the delight of our 3 yaers old. We told him they were pirate gold and it was 2 days before he realised they were chocolate!! Your own dedicated check in and consierg staff are a nice touch that ensure you get a personalised service.
For none Empire State Club rooms breakfast appear to be in the Parkside Diner, and there looked to be the usual Disney ques for this in the mornings. Mickey, Minne and friends are also in the lobby for photos and again the ques are much shorter than the parks.
We never ate in the Parkside although it looked very nice and had a good choice of buffet items, but did eat in the Manhattan resteruant a very classy and more upmarket Italian inspired resteraunt. The menu was amazing if you like your food a little more unusual, no pizza or lasange, but a fantastic seafood rissotto and beautifully cooked stakes. The New York City bar is the perfect way to end an evening – with a Manhattan or Cosmo cocktail in hand!!
All in the ONLY place I will stay next time I’m at DLP!! Planning the next trip already!!
We have just come back from a visit to Disneyland Paris and we stayed here. It is a great hotel! The rooms are really nice and clean. We only ate in the Parkside Diner as the Manhattan was closed the night we were planning to eat there but the Parkside was quite good. The staff are helpful and friendly. The pool is really good as well.
It is in a nice location to the park and the Disney Village, not to close and not to far. Looks great lit up at night. The only down side is that the only Disney characters that were there to meet and greet were Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. It is a really nice atmosphere and overall I think this hotel is great.
We stayed in the Hotel New York during our last visit in March 2008. We have stayed in the Newport Bay before which we really liked and decided to pay a little bit extra and treat ourselves to the New York this time. We were not disappointed!
The first bonus is that it is a lot shorter walk to the parks than the Newport Bay, just through the Disney Village. The second surprise, not mentioned in the brochure, is that there is hot food available as part of the buffet breakfast as well as the usual pastries, fruit and cereals. This was especially welcome on cold mornings to have a hot meal before going out for a long day in the parks.
The hotel itself is nicely decorated and feels warm and cosy as you enter it. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and were pleased with the very short queues to have photos with the characters in the mornings.
Also it was good to have free towels provided at the swimming pool. The pool itself was warm and clean and the children liked the shallow kids pool, which meant we could have a swim while they played safely in there.
Our room was larger than those in the Newport Bay with a large wardrobe space, table and chairs and felt very spacious. The bathroom was also larger with two sinks and a hairdryer provided.
We really liked this hotel and found it well worth the small extra charge to upgrade from the Newport Bay.
At my last visit I stayed 1 night at Hotel New York and 1 night at the Dream Castle. I have to say that especially then you REALLY notice the difference! In New York there’s a lot more atmosphere, the rooms are nicely themed , the views are amazing and your just in the middle of Disney! We liked it that you are just 5 minutes away from the parks.
The breakfast was also a lot smaller then the Dream Castle one. Also the cafe is great and the swimming pool is lovely. I have stayed at the Sequoia Lodge, Hotel New York, Dream Castle , Holiday inn and the Explorers , Hotel New York is my favorite!
If I go to Disneyland Paris now I really prefer staying at this hotel :D (well if I have the money ofcourse ;) )
What to say, so nice, that it will be our next destination. Perfect, in every way. Also they rearrange spaces around trees in front of hotel, with some nice flowers. Very nice in deed.
Stayed in the New York October 07 and had a GREAT time! The rooms are much larger in comparison with Cheyenne and Sequoia Lodge, and we had great views over Disney Village! One of the best hotels!
I have now stayed at the Hotel New York seven times and absolutely love it. I have also tried every hotel on site and prefer the New York by far. The atmosphere is more adult in atmosphere and relaxing. With less rooms than Newport Bay and Sequoia Lodge there isn’t that much of a queue at meal times and the pool has been quite quiet also when I have visited it.
I have stayed at the Disneyland Hotel but didn’t like the atmosphere – too many screaming children running about unattended. As the New York has a convention centre most of the residents are suited professionals and tend to be better behaved!
I’m sure not everyone agrees with my views and experiences but I have always received great service and enjoyed myself. In fact I have booked again for May 2008 to stay there.
I stayed here in 2004 and Its a really nice hotel! The rooms are really big and the hotel is just a lovely place to be. The only thing they need to change is the range of characters, the only ones that were there when I went was Mickey, Minnie and Goofy!
I returned yesterday from my 8th visit to DLRP and yet another stay at the Hotel New York. I was not disappointed! Although our room, on the corner near Cafe Mickey and at the end of the corridor, was a long way from reception, the advantage of this was that we didn’t have people walking past our room and disturbing us. Breakfast was much better than in previous visits with hot food now also on offer and a wider variety of meats, rolls, pastries etc. We also ate in the Parkside Diner which now offers a buffet style evening meal with as much as you can eat and a good selection. There were lots of opportunites to meet the characters in the main reception area and Disney photographers available to take ‘offical’ photos should you so require.
We love this Hotel. Nice staff, clean large rooms, not as crowded as Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Club. We were upgraded to lake view and when we arrived in our room there was a card (with a Cinderella pin) for our 5th wedding anniversary as surprise.
My family and I have visited Disney Land Paris 4 times now and have more or less enjoyed it, on our first visit to Disney 2003 we automatically got a free upgrade from Santa Fe to Newport Bay.
This was all exciting for us as we were staying in one of the biggest Hotels in Europe. We have to say that the first visit was fantastic the weather was constant blue skies every day while we were there and very very hot…..(Great Holiday).
So as most people do they get good service and its makes your mind up where your next hotel is going to be for the following year…Yes NEWPORT BAY, unfortunatley this did not happen we ended up in Sequoia Lodge the rooms were ok to a point we could not open the windows to let air in and the reason why they would not open they had locked them a very bad health and safety act there….
Anyway the holiday went very well and as always we were planning our next holiday to Disney….. But this were things went horribly wrong….
We booked up as we normally did for the 2006 trip to Disney and planned our days out, well when we arrived at the NEWPORT BAY HOTEL, we were informed that there was no parades due to a CAST STRIKE over pay.
This really upset us but we tried to enjoy the holiday the best we could, but low and behold all the Cast Members were disputing blowing trumpets whistles waving banners and walking round the resort spoiling everything for every customer, at one point I was pushed aside so that they could get past…. I won`t type down what I thought but I was extremely angry over this.
The room we were staying in at the Newport Bay was to say the least basic, like other people have mentioned the wall paper was coming of the walls if not ripped off already, we had problems trying to open the safe so I had to go and see a member of staff to report this.
I was told the manager would come and visit us to open it…. we waited and waited………. and waited…….. and waited….. should I go on?
Anyway I went back again to the reception to state my case again…..we waited…… and waited…..but hey presto he arrived….
So this 2006 holiday went pearshaped, this was an expensive holiday for us and we didn`t get our moneys worth….
So as it was coming up to the 15th Anniversary 2007 we planned and hoped we would have a better holiday…….. Yes as planned we stayed at the Newport Bay Hotel…….. what a disaster…… Our room was like another person had said was like miles away, and the room…. well it was very smelly…. as if the drains were badly blocked wallpaper coming off the walls my daughter even found blood on the bottom sheet of her bed.
We had to open the windows to let some fresh air in and we were at the back of the hotel facing a very busy road…..who needs an alarm clock hey!!
But as always we tried to put this behind us and enjoy our holiday, we had read the holiday broucher previously before coming and it stated there would be a lot more characters as to see around the resort as it was the 15th Anniversary, now that was a lie in itself there was no more characters than there was the preivious year….. I took that as a sales talk to get customers to the resort……..false info…. I our our eyes the NEWPORT BAY HOTEL is slowing SINKING standards are at a very very all time low, and staff working there should be disgusted with themselfs (Cleaning Staff that is).
Like the old english saying you get what you pay for…….. At Disney that don`t mean a thing…… like me I work hard to take my family to Disney as my daughter is crazy about it (even though she`s 21) but we do it for her, like me she works hard so she like me wants good service for what we pay and quality.
I just hope next years 2008 holiday is better….. we live in hope… BUT newport is out of our plans…..
Last thing………… I sent Disney DLRP an email with regards to this 2007 holiday and all I got was that I should of reported this to management…… but from what I have read in the last review they fob you off with a upgrade meal…… talk about not sorting the problem out and ignoring your complaints…..
All members of the cleaning staff must wear gas masks or have no smell at all as I would of thought that they would pick up on this and report it to management….. whatever!
My favourite hotel, it is just simply the best. It has lovely views, its near to the village and parks and its not as expensive as the disneyland hotel.
I have stayed at the Hotel New York on three occassions and am about to go for my 4th visit. On my last visit I had a Lake View room although I didn’t request it! This was lovely waking up with a view of Lake Disney and it inspired me to go for an early morning walk around the lake which was bliss being an early riser!!! Having stayed at all the other Disney Hotels apart from the Cheyenne I would rate this as my favourite.
I love the Art Deco theming throughout the hotel and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only thing that I would knock off points for in all the Disney Hotels is no tea making facilities. I would expect this in any hotel not just a Disney one. The location of the New York is excellent with a short walk or bus ride to the theme parks and within easy reach of the Disney Village. The restaurants and other facilities are perfect. They also know how to celebrate a birthday here!
Have stayed at the Hotel for the last eight summers and the standard never fails to impress. The atmosphere is cool and calm, being exactly what you need after a full day in the Parks. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, and the service – especially in the bar – is first class. The theming of the rooms is perfect, with great views if you get a Lake view. Its location just outside the village make the walk to the Parks less than five minutes – no need to use the buses. Have also stayed in the Disneyland Hotel, and while we loved that one, as a family we prefer this Hotel.
I think this hotel is just as nice as the Disneyland Hotel, but I prefer this one because it’s cheaper and I prefer the location. I find it so much easier being right next to the Disney Village – You don’t have to walk far after eating a huge meal at one of the restaurants!
Also, you can get brilliant views from this hotel. The first time we stayed here we a perfect view of Lake Disney, and the second time we stayed here we had a great view of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and Space Mountain!
I rated this hotel 10 stars because there is nothing I don’t like about it.
