  1. Blue Lagoon Restaurant is an experience that nobody should miss. At least once you should treat yourself to this magnificent place. Where else can you eat “inside” a ride and this ride being none other than “Pirates of the Caribbean”. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic.

As for the food, I find it excellent. Good variety of exotic Caribbean dishes, cocktails and deserts (I highly recommend the crème brûlée, the best I’ve ever tasted). The service matches the restaurants theme and food. Solid!

I have been visiting this particular restaurant since 1992 and I never experienced a single problem or let down. Sometimes the service is a bit slow due to large crowds (hardly noticeable) and totally expected. Same as the fellow reviewer below me (mafju), I can’t understand all these bad reviews that this restaurant keeps on receiving. 10/10 from me!

  2. I don’t understand the negative reviews.

This restaurant has a perfect ambiance and the food is very good.

  3. We’ve only visited the Blue Lagoon once, hoping that it would be similar to the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. Of course, theming-wise, it is, however the choice and quality of food is nowhere near as good, and even the atmosphere is lacking a little something. My advice would be to try it once.

  4. Our meal was fine, but just that. The quality was good, but the half-board plus menu had few options, so I ended up with a saltier main course than I would have preferred. Good dessert though! We had a waterside table, but there wasn’t that much to see really, just people floating by on a boat. That wouldn’t be important to me if I return to the restaurant again.

  5. We visited Disneyland Paris for the 4th time this New Years and on each occasion promised to try Blue Lagoon. We booked in advance for New Years Night , and I have to say it was a huge let down.

The food was obviously prepared well in advance & not freshly prepared, e.g I had the shrimp cocktail and it was very cold it was obviously taken straight from the fridge, and the rice which came with my main dish was hard around the edges from the reheat. The rest of my family had similarly disappointing meals.

The ladies toilet was an absolute disgrace and none of the Staff seem to care in the least. My advice is its not worth the view of POC and feel the Staff need to up their game as the Disney Village restaurants are far superior. I would give this restaurant 3/10. Spend your money elsewhere.

  6. Third stay in DLP and our second trip to the Blue Lagoon, and it was as great as I’d remembered.

The resteraunt itself is wonderfully themed right in the heart of the PoTC ride, as you cross the bridge over the river and are seated in the resteraunt with its bamboo funiture and sand floor you really feel part of the action.

There is a good choice of unusal Carribean themed food, with a real distinctive twist, dont look for any pizza or burgers on this menu. I myself went off the set menues and had the flambade Ostrich stake which was out of this world and the creme brule’, both of which come flaming hot to your table – a nice touch!! (if you like rum!!) Three of our party had the 19.90 euro 40 minute menu and I would highly recomend this, they all had the Carribean chicken curry (korma like) followed by a nice selection of about 3 small deserts on a plate together (plus chocolate palm tree!) and a gourmet coffe. Well wort it!! There was a good choice of both a la carte and set meals to suit all budgets and appetities ranging from this 19 euro one to a 40 euro full three course meal. The children’s meals were good, served in the nice 3 dish Mickey server like the other table service resteraunts and served slightly before the adults to allow you to enjoy your meal also.

I can not recomend this highly enough- of all the various meals we ate in a 5 day stay this was probably the one most enjoyed by all members of our group – ideal for a quick meal stop or a full blown push the boat out (sorry, couldn’t resist!!) evening meal experience just before enjoying the night parade or fireworks. A real treat.

  7. For years and years we sailed past it on the Pirates of the Caribbean and for years we said we must do it. Well, on one trip we finally decided to take the plunge.

The atmosphere was fantastic, the smell gorgeous. We sat at our table and were greeted by a wonderful waiter who was polite and served us very quickly.

Now, this is all great but the main reason you go into a restaurant is for food. This is the point that let Blue Lagoon down. I had the curry which was terrible.

If this had been an attraction then 10/10 for themeing but as it was a restaurant then they get 2/10 and no more. Don’t go under pain of death!

  8. Good views of POC.

Apart from that in my family we have a special name for this restaurant; namely RIP OFF COUNTRY.

But hey! If you want to pay £££££££££££ for mediocre food and a good view of POC then that’s fine with me!

I’ll be waiting at the Hyperion or Pizza Planet.

As I said – THEME PARKS DON’T DO FINE DINING

  9. We ate here on our first trip to DLP in Nov 2004 and was not disappointed!! It really is a magical location, I can imagine all the more popular now with the success of the PotC films.

A truly lovely setting with the Caribbean atmosphere and boats from the ride cruising past. The menu is mainly seafood, I had the platter which included a vast selection of various shell fish and oysters served up on crushed ice – I recently had practically the same at the famous Grand Central Oyster Bar at New York, and the quality at DLP was just as good. My not so adventurous boyfriend had the chicken curry which was also very nice.

We finished our meal just in time to watch the closing fireworks show – a perfect end to a wonderful Disney evening!!

Was disappointed to find the ride itself and restaurant closed [for refurbishment] in Nov 2007 when we last visited, otherwise we would have gone back to dip our toes in this lagoon!

  10. This is the most amazing experience at Disneyland.
The lighting and atmosphere in the restaurant is immense.
The food is to die for, and the menu is varied. Although they have the more tropical seafood dishes they still have chicken curry and roast beef.
Service is not slow in my opinion and the waiters are very friendly.

The best place to sit is by the water so that you can see the people in the boats on the Pirates Of The Caribbean ride (and wave to them like we do!!!!)

  11. The best restaurant at Disneyland.

I love the theme and the fact that you can see people riding on Pirates of the Caribbean.

The lobster was amazing!! The service can be slow-but i think that is due to the amount of people dining there!

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

  12. Had a meal here in September and regret doing so. The resturant can be seen from the Pirates Of The Carribean attraction and the lighting and atsmophere is amazing. However what let it down was the bland cold food and slow service.

For starters was the Fried scallops with orange curry sauce and sweet potato purée, scallops were cooked perfect, but the sauce was tasteless and luke warm. Through presentation was good, as it was served on a shell on a bed of what looked like sea weed or something.

Main course was the Grilled fillet of beef with Jamaican pepper sauce and potatoes with lemon confit. Beef like the scallops was cooked perfect, but rest of the course was bland and cold. Also dissapointed by the sauce, as I was expecting a bit more of a kick to it.

Desert was the Caramelised banana pie with cocoa ice cream, that was to die for. The portion was also huge and turned the meal from being terrible to just dissapointing.

Service was very slow, but the castmember who served us was very friendly and apologetic. We were even not charged a second round of drinks, as an apology. This I throught was very good of them, as not one of us complained about having to wait. I made sure a decent tip was given not because of the food but the warm and friendly service.

One day we might give this place another go, but the overall impression from other people I have spoken to is that this resturant isn’t the best DLRP has to offer. And it certainly is not worth the high prices we paid either. For a better and cheaper meal please see Walt’s.

  13. We were so glad we followed the advice of the users of this site and booked this restaurant for lunch. We had a lakeside table which really added to the athmosphere. The food was first rate with lots of choice – I was particularly pleased with the great healthy range on offer to children. The only small gripe was service was a bit slow, our two girls were getting really antsy to get back to the parks by the time we were finishing up. All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant – be advised be very hungry when you go as they really stuff you!

  14. Restaurant with a great (in my opinion best) theming! Very romantic athmosphere for couples!

  15. Being a laid back couple, going to DLRP had it’s benefits and drawbacks. Blue Lagoon was one of the times where we should have been more on the ball.

It was lunch time and I really fancied visiting here for lunch. It was a one off chance and this is a one off restaurant. As we approached the reception desk. “Table for 2 please!”, we were asked to wait for an available table. The wait dragged onto 25 minutes in the upstairs corridor (which was cold in December). Now, I can’t really complain about the wait though. The restaurant was popular and we didn’t book / reserve earlier.

We had a bottle of wine and a 3 course dinner. Seafood and steak. When you first decend down into the Blue Lagoon you become fascinated with the boats sailing past. By the time your meal has arrived you’ve almost forgotten they are there. Although it was pricy, it was definately worth it. We finished off our meal with a trip on Pirates of the Carribean and saw that someone else was in our table already!

Bad point – My wife had a massive queue for the toilet and said that the cleanliness wasn’t great.

  16. This restaurant is very dark, which adds to the great atmosphere. The food and service have been excellent each time we have been there. If you have the white wine they even put it in a ‘bucket’ of blue water to keep it cool. Ask when you arrive for a ‘Lake’ seat, we’ve always got one when we’ve asked, as this allows you to see the boats on the Pirates ride as they go past.

Booking in advance is usually required for this restaurant. Price? not cheap but worth every penny as you are getting quality.

    By phildis66 on 4th November 2007

  17. There was a nice atmosphere here and it was fun for my son to wave to all the passing boats-worth while getting a waterside table if possible.

As its nice and dark and very atmospheric you do forget about the busy crowds of people outside and do relax more to eat your meal than you do in other busy restaurants such as Cafe Mickey. Service was friendly and food was nice.

No baby changing facilities that I could see-I had to change my baby daughter on a blanket on the floor of the ladies-luckily the bathroom was unoccupied and was spotless so I was comfortable to do this.

  18. We loved this restaurant, the atmosphere was fantastic, the food was great, even for the fussy eaters like myself and my children. Children loved the boats going past. Would love to go back to this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone. Loved the cocktails too.

  19. Absolutely superb experience in March 2006, it was perfect, although we were a group of 7 we got a table on the beach, just right for waving to the boats going past. Service was excellent as was our hostess and the food was delicious, the “Sugar Coated Expedition” was out of this world, and we were able to mix & match the kids meals, choosing main course from the teenagers menu and desserts from the kids menu (they had to have the Chef’s surprise) a white chocolate jigsaw, with food paints to paint it with – it kept them quiet for ages, (with the recent changes to the children’s menu, I’m not sure this would still be available.) We were celebrating my 40th birthday and Wedding Anniversary and having now visited almost every restaurant at the resort – I can honestly say we couldn’t have chosen a better one! :)

  20. I booked a meal here in May for 25 people. They gave us a lovely area all to ourselves and the table was beautifully laid out . Service was very good throughout the meal and, as far as I’m aware, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The staff were friendly and obliging and I was very impressed. It is a lovely setting too.
The only drawback is that it is (of course) mainly seafood but you have to expect that in a Pirates of the Carribean restaurant!!!

  21. We also went here for dinner one evening and my mother asked what seafood was in one of the dishes and when she was told squid she asked if it could be left out and the waitress told her that she would not be happy if my mother chose this option on the menu and then did not eat so instead recommended the swordfish (which my mum said was lovely). The atmosphere was really nice and the decorations etc as well.

By jenjen on 2nd October 2007

  22. This restaurant is located inside Pirates of the Carribean, and the tables are along the ‘river’ that runs through the attraction, which is really nice. The decorations are beautiful and it’s fun watching the boats go by. We had dinner here one time and unfortunately found the food and service very poor. My wife wanted to order something but suspected it had an ingredient she didn’t like. So she asked the waiter if it had this ingredient. He said he didn’t know and was reluctant to go ask. Eventually he did ask and when he came back informed her that it did indeed have the ingredient. So she ordered something else, but when she got the plate it turned out it ALSO had the ingredient she didn’t like! How ignorant of the waiter not to know this, ask the cook or inform us about it. I had a pasta meal which was very bland and untasty. We had been looking forward to eating here but found the whole experience very disappointing.
